Normally referred to as just Den Perry, can anyone tell me why, in series 1 episode 6 of Phoenix Nights, Brian calls him Dennis, and in series 2 episode 6, Brian calls him Denzil?  |

Hmm, can't say I recall him being called Dennis ever, was always under the impression that Den Perry was Denzil! Anyhow, I never wrote the series so I can't say for sure. What I am sure of though is that Peter and Co would have checked continuity of a character such as Den Perry as, from the start, he was always going to occur!

Well I just had to check this out.. and watch Phoenix Nights again - oh what a chore.. and you're right... Brian DOES call Den "Dennis" in the last episode of series 1...
So I have drawn the following conclusions:
1 Peter Kay & Co forgot they had already named him Dennis !
2 They hoped WE would have forgotten
3 Just thought Denzil would be funnier
4 Brian Potter doesnt know his real name & just makes it up
5 We really shouldnt worry about this kind of thing !!!
