Well... this could be very simple or rather complicated, depending on how much you use computers. You need to use a paint/photo (eg. Photoshop / Paintshop Pro etc) program to take the section of the pic you want and resize it to an appropriate Av size. (mine's 70x70 pixels, but you can go bigger on these boards). Next, when you've got your final image, you need to host it online. For an Av, you'd be better having your own hosting space rather than using a temporary one, cos you'll want it accessible all the time. When you've got it hosted/uploaded, go to your Profile link at the top of the page there. In the I have my own pic section, tick the box and enter the URL of your image, then fill in the boxes what size it is. Bingo If you're still not sure, I can do it and host it if you wanna e-mail me the pic? Let me know and I'll PM you my e-mail addy. Laters, B.

Okay, I'm doing this using Micrografx Picture Publisher, but it'll vary slightly depending on what program you're using. The basic method's the same though. 1. Open the image you want to use for your Av: 2. Use the Mask or Selection tool to select which part of the image you want to use (if necessary): 3. Crop the image to this mask (or Copy / Paste as New Image). 4. Go into the image size properties and resize the image to 100x100 pixels (for example) 5. Once it's resized, save it as a JPG or GIF on your Hard Drive. 6. Go to www.uploadit.org and sign up for a free account. It'll e-mail you to confirm and you'll be done in a couple of minutes. 7. Once you're done, hit the Browse button and locate the file on your Hard Drive: 8. Hit Upload and wait for the page to refresh, then hit View. 9. When you're shown your image, select the address in the bar at the top and Copy it. 10. Go to your Profile in these boards (the link's at the top of the page). Tick the box for I have my own pic, and Paste the address into the box. Then add the size you want it displayed at (100x100 if that's what you made your image): and Bingo, it's as easy as that. That's just a basic version of course, you can do what you like to the image to tart it up in your photo/paint program. Howzat? B.

Go to the Pic. you want to use as your avatar. Right click on it , go to properties. go to url address, left click, hold, drag the mouse across and highlight all the url address until you see it all blue, now release. Put the cursor on the highlighted address, make sure the arrow is on it. Right click go to copy, left click on copy. Now go to your profile and tick the box, got my own pic., next to it you will see a box, right click and and paste the adresss in that box. Now click on change profile at bottom of page. Your Pic. must be linked to an address on the Internet, otherwise it won't work. Try yahoo photo's if you have no web space for pics. The procedure all sounds complicated but once you have done it a few times you will do it no problem. Good Luck !
P.S. you will see 2 boxes with avatar width, my is set at 100x100, I think that is the Max. on here.
