Hope someone can either help me or give me an explanation. Tried to log on to the message board the other day but a message flashed up saying 'sorry, you have been banned from this forum'! Now, unless I have a split personality or an evil twin (which I assure you I don't), I know I have NEVER put anything on the forum to offend anyone and have never used any unsavoury language! Have tried, unsuccessfully so far, to get an explanation from someone. The only way I have managed to log in is when somone sends a reply to a topic on my email. Could someone please look into it and email me on mandz2501@hotmail.com. If I have been banned, at least explain why as I am completely in the dark! Thanks.

You are presumably a customer of a major ISP, like NTL or BT Yahoo. When someone is banned, Proboards allows for not only their username but also their current IP number to be blocked. But blocking an IP is pointless as most of us have static ones, which change every time we logon. I think what happened to you is that you were randomly assigned an IP which at one time was used by someone who had been banned from here.
Or it could be some other glitch, Proboards has a few.

He/She meant dynamic rather than static but thats basically it. I think I have it sorted for you. If it happens again disconnect from the internet, dial up again and send me a pm
