Fawlty Towers has the German's funny walk scene and the "Dont mention the war" line, Only Fools has "Lovely Jubbly" or whatever (I'm sure you can think of more), Royle Family has "My Arse!". Which line or scene above (taken from series 1 and 2) will go on to attain such 'classic' "Did you see that bit..." status in ten or twenty years. Of course this is only on the Phoenix Story as it is now, and I've left room for those who don't agree with the options. I have tried to pick some of the best bits. Have a go! Avanti

the song amarillo will always be remembered as part of phoenix nights. its hard to say if that will be the most memorable part in ten years though. there are too many bits to mention

I've voted for Amarillo but on reflection the Chair Lift scene has to be the best.... in fact both chair lift scenes are side splitting!!! ;D ;D
Things I'm gonna do to you.
What would Thora Hird do now.

Things I'm gonna do to you. "Won't be long now...". ;D God, I love that bit! I still think one of the funniest things ever was in PN2/The Quiz: "The answer is the Shroud of Turin". "What did we put"? "Lisa Stansfield". ;D Probably won't be a 'defining' moment, but it has me in bits. You just want to know what the question was, don't you?! I think Owen could be right about the broken down Stair Lift scene. It seemed to get the biggest reaction from the audience at the British Comedy Awards. It was the one that my Mum laughed at the most, anyway...if that's anything to go by! Carys x

I'm even more convinced that Peter Kay has entered our culture to a small degree, every time someone says Garlic Bread now that's the key for a lot of laughter, everybody seems to click with it. Although I've got a friend, or should I say HAD a friend in Derby who thought Peter Kay AND PN was Shit!
